The Wooden Bowl

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl

tomorrow, a week fromnow, a month from now, a year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four

-year-old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was

blurred, and his step faltered

The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's

shaky hands andfailing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off

hisspoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled

on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.
'We must do something about father,' said the son.
'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the

floor..'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed

dinner.Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was

served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he

had a tear in hiseye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the

couple had for him were sharp admonitionswhen he dropped a

fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with

wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, 'What are

you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded, 'Oh, I am

making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I

grow up. ' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless.

Then tears started to streamdown their cheeks. Though no word

was spoken, both knew what must be done..

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently

led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days

he ate every meal with the family... And for some reason, neither

husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was

dropped, milk spilled,or the tablecloth soiled.

On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens,

how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better

tomorrow.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way

he/shehandles four things:

a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas

tree lights.

I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making

a 'life..'

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's

mitt onboth hands. You need to be able to throw something

back sometimes.

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you
But, if you focus on God, your family, your friends, the needs of

others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness

will find you

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open

heart, I usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch

someone..

People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug,

or just a friendly pat on the back.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

God bless you

Jaden's backflip

She's doing backflips now?!! God help me, get the backboard!

Cheer Clinic 2010

Each year the cheerleaders do a cheer clinic for the little girls. I agreed to make tutu's for all the girls, what a task! This is only half of them. Jess and Nicole came over for about six hours, it took that long to cut the tule and waist bands, and make SIX tutus.

We got them all made and the girls loved them!

I made Sadie a "Poopsietu" also.

Jitterbug

Jaden has been doing the Ballroom team here. Like I said she is a busy girl! Josh Benson is her partner, he does the backhand spring in he beginning. Just watch their candlestick it is the best one on the team!

I love my Job

There are so many people who do not truly love what they do. I am fortunate to be one of the select few that do not fall into that group. One of my patients moms brought this into me the other day. She said that she is so very grateful for the help that I gave her with her beautiful baby Carson. She has been getting about two hours of sleep each night for the past seven months because Carson has had a lot of problems. Every specialist has told her that he will "grow" out of his problems. After numerous referals, and fighting with their insurance company we have started to make progress! This is something that I do for all my patients, it's my job. It does feel good to know that my patients do appreciate what goes on behind the scenes.

Jaden New Cheer Stunt

Have I ever said that Jaden is amazing? I am so proud of her! She works so hard and it shows.

Chad and Jason Halftime entertainment

The Booster Club is always coming up with ways to embarrass the family members of the students. Tonight it was Chad and Jasons turn. Jason was blind-folded and without touching Jason Chad had to coach him to make a basket (Chad played football never basketball). If you notice Chad keeps pointing and the basket to show Jason where to shoot. The other team was two ladies that are basketball coaches for the girls team. Chad and Jason had no hope.

Jaden helping get everyone ready to go outside

Jax refused to put on his coat and would only wear his favorite Hurley jacket. He is a a little fashion conscious, one more person to fight for mirror time!

Last year for Xmas we had gotten Josh an older snowmobile to learn on and this was the first time he was able to get it out.

Christmas

Always a little scary looking on xmas morning!!! So thankful that we are blessed to have families to share xmas with. Marsha and Kent came to our house xmas morning. Jaden was my first to rise, then Josh and Jax didn't wander out until about 2 hours later. Jax didn't really know what to think about the presents until a few hours later, he ran around the house yelling "mine" whenever anyone got near his toys.
Later we went to my parents house and had lunch and opened presents. Earlier this year we had gone to the PBR, I had gotten my dad a belt buckle that some of the riders had signed, including Ty Murray; my dad was pretty excited about that.
